[rout] is one of the most dynamic and exciting ensembles in the UK at the moment. Founded by composers Sam Hayden, Paul Newland and Paul Whitty, the group explores collaborative, experimental and cross-disciplinary approaches to composition. Performances have included Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Bmic Cutting Edge Series, Cut & Splice at the ICA, and the Brighton Festival. [rout] has collaborated with visual artist Anna Best, Painter Pete Smith, artists collective O(rphan)d(rift>), curators David Crawforth and Naomi Siderfin, choreographer Marina Collard, video artists Hex and graphic designer Ratio. [rout] has been featured on BBC Radio 3's Hear and Now and ResonanceFM.

Hot from the Huddersfield Festival, [rout]'s programme at the CCA mixes sound and image, improvisation and composition, and includes a film realisation of Michael Parsons' experimental classic Walk.
