Okeanos returns to Oxford at full strength for this concert combining
Japanese and Western classical instruments and music. Dai Fujikura is
a Japanese composer who has made England his home, and his music for Okeanos
is richly expressive of his roots. Dan Goren is another UK-based composer,
and has strong links with Oxford. Choshi, a Japanese traditional piece
for solo sho from the Heian Period (794-1185 AD), will be performed with
simultaneous recording and delay to give the astonishing effect of hearing
three shos simultaneously.
