LUNCHTIME PERFORMANCE

Fresh from his four-day performance in isolation for Stockhausen's
Gold Dust as part of the Cut & Splice festival,
Matthew Lee Knowles presents his new work Solo for Person
in the GSMD foyer.
INTRODUCING ‘SOUND AND MUSIC’
1pm – 1.45pm, GSMD Lecture Recital Room
Matthew Greenall, Bmic Director, will lead a presentation
on a major new organisation- Sound and Music. SAM, for short,
is a merger between the British Music Information Centre,
Contemporary Music Network, Society for Promotion of New Music
and Sonic Arts Network, so come and find out how it can be
beneficial to you as a musician both now and in the future.
Students attending the presentation will receive a free ticket
to a SAM event, or a free drink at a SAM event!

Since 2001 Okeanos has been championing the work of young
composers, presenting pioneering performance events and collaborating
with other art forms. They have performed at many festivals
around the country. Recently, Okeanos participated in a highly
acclaimed spnm tour in conjunction with the Asian Music Circuit,
featuring soloists Etsuko Takezawa and Clive Bell, premiering
new works by young and emerging composers as well as established
and traditional repertoire.
The group will be performing music by Carter, Plein, Wiseman,
Fujikura and Powers in the Bmic Cutting Edge concert series
at The Warehouse on Thursday 13th November.
