Sarah Nicolls (piano) with Ruth Wall (harp)
Sarah performs music for piano and recorded sound by Jonathan
Harvey and Ed Bennett, a solo piece by Richard Barrett, and
is joined by harpist Ruth Wall for an improvisation on prepared
harp and piano.

Born in 1936 in Berlin, composer, tuba player and pianist John White has lived most of his eventful and creative life in England. Four of his pieces will be performed in Cutting Edge concerts this autumn. He will perform and speak about his music, and share his fascination for the music and people who have influenced him.

A special 45 minute concert of music for percussion suitable
for very young children, including babies, to enjoy with their
parents. The second half of the morning session will be an opportunity
for dancing!

Takes place as part of ‘Take a Deep Breath’ interdisciplinary
conference on the social, cultural and scientific ramifications
of breathing run by the London Consortium, a collaboration between
the Architectural Association, Birkbeck College (University
of London), the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Science Museum
and TATE. Conference dates Thursday 15th – Saturday 17th

Toshio Hosokawa Atem Lied for solo bass flute
Mikhail Karikis, whose extended vocalisations and breathing
combine contemporary, folk and pop vocal techniques, as well
as throat-singing, will perform alongside Richard.
